Dr. Spencer Shimabukuro

Dr. Spencer Shimabukuro graduated from Los Angeles Chiropractic College, also known as the Southern California University of Health Sciences as a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC).  As a student, he was very active in many of the technique clubs on campus as well as trying to advance the profession through political action, even lobbying in Washington DC and in Sacramento.  He is currently still attending the same school to get his masters in Chinese and Oriental Medicine, which he is able to incorporate in his treatments and diagnosis.

Dr. Shimabukuro utilizes the Applied Kinesiology (AK) technique in which he became certified in as a student.  He believes that this technique does an excellent job in addressing the biomechanical, chemical, and emotional stresses of the patient.  He is also greatly interested in nutrition and tries to incorporate it into his patient’s treatments.

The practice name “Spencare” is actually the pronunciation of his name in Latin.  Growing up in Hawaii, Spencer took Latin in the 7th grade, and Spencare has been one of the nick names for him till this day.  While it is just another way to say his name, it ironically represents Spencer who truly cares for the well being of his patients.
