Dr. Spencer Shimabukuro

Dr. Spencer Shimabukuro graduated from  the Southern California University of Health Sciences as a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) with a Masters in Chinese and Oriental Medicine (LAc).  He is licensed in California and Hawaii and ran a practice in El Segundo, California until focusing on wellness, nutrition, and lifestyle changes until he received an exciting opportunity to work on the cruise ship, Crystal Symphony, as the resident acupuncturist.  He is currently on board treating vacationers and seeing the world.

Dr. Shimabukuro utilizes the Applied Kinesiology (AK) technique in which he became certified in as a student.  He believes that this technique does an excellent job in addressing the biomechanical, chemical, and emotional stresses of the patient and combines the philosophical beliefs of chiropractic and acupuncture together.  He is greatly interested in nutrition and tries to incorporate it into all his patient’s treatments.

The practice name “Spencare” is actually the pronunciation of his name in Latin.  Growing up in Hawaii, Spencer took Latin in the 7th grade, and Spencare has been one of the nick names for him till this day.  While it is just another way to say his name, it ironically represents Spencer who truly cares for the well being of his patients.
